TED Talk: How I hacked online dating

In the video linked above Amy Webb talks about her experience with online dating and how she failed with it. Her online dating profile was not interesting enough and therefore she decided to hack the dating site, by making 10 fake profiles she used to gather a lot of data from the women who were popular and got a lot of dates. After making these databases Amy changed her own profile, so it was matching the popular women, but still gave the men an impression of her as a person. Eventually, she ended up with a date, which led to a husband and a kid.

This is important in our society today, as online dating is a completely normal thing through young people and they use a lot of energy to set up their profile and show the best of themselves, instead of just being relaxed and show who they actually are as persons, with down to earth pictures, not necessary with a lot of skin showed, and a down to earth description of themselves.
